Wind Energy Nehir Evlimo?lu Wind energy is a form of solar energy because wind is caused by the heating of our earth’s surface. Since there is different kinds of materials in our earth’s surface just like water and land parts these parts absorbs the sun in their own rates. During a day the air in the outside rises and expands and becomes heavier which then cool air comes in contact with the expanding air, then it creates a wind. Wind energy is a renewable energy because we can replace it in a few years. Since wind is created by solar energy if the sun doesn’t run out of power the wind won’t so it’s a renewable energy. We get our wind energy by our wind turbines. This image shows a wind turbine creating energy. First the wind is being cut through which results in creating energy, then this energy is carried onto the energy poles. This image shows a heating of the landscape and the cool air over our land which results into creating wind. Wind energy is a clean and a renewable source of energy. We can replace it in short periods of time. Wind turbine needs a really small amount of water to work. Wind turbines also reduce carbon dioxide which reduces 125 million metric tons of carbon dioxide.Wind energy is also one of the cheapest energy on earth, it costs 4 cents per kilowatt hour which is very cheap. It doesn’t pollute our environment which is a good thing. Wind energy is a non-toxic energy and it doesn’t pollute our world, which means that wind energy is eco-friendly. One negative parts of a wind turbine is that it can kill birds and bats. It destroys the birds habitats which leads to them having no place to live. Also the air pressure that is happening because of the blades kill bats and birds., but there has been research that birds and bats killed are so low that there is no threat to the species. One of the negative effects is that people don’t want to use wind turbines because they look ugly. They think that they can use fossil fuels without polluting our world. Which the use of fossil fuels leads to polluting our world.Wind turbines produce energy. This is kinetic energy. There is a main body at a wind turbine and 3 large blades that is connected to the shaft. These blades turn and send power to the generator in the main body. Then the energy is sent to the generator to become electricity. After it becomes electricity it is being sent to the transmission towers to be used by us as you can see in the diagram. This image shows a wind turbine creating energy. First the wind is being cut through which results in creating energy, then this energy is carried onto the energy poles. I think wind energy is good way to produce electricity. I think we should continue this because it doesn’t have many negative effects to our environment and it has many positive effects to our environment. Such as producing energy without polluting our nature, a cheap way of electricity and many good ways. The one of the negative facts that it destroys habitats and kill birds and bats but it isn’t a threat to the species that much to become endangered. Wind energy is a way we should use because it is clean and renewable.
