to do with lack of treatment or judges based on an individual’s race. There are some of the barriers meet by ethnic minority community. Like there is less access to treatment because sometimes there is no availability health services. Anyone can not have the best quality care due to less participation in treatment decisions. Any race that has low-income may be hesitate to involve in mental health care because of fear or mistrust due to their history and racism. There are people who can not speak nor understand the language so they can not get the care they need. Money could be an issue also because the minorities lacks of money or they do not have insurance. In 1954, the Supreme Court ruled in Brown v. Board of Education that divide but equal schools were unconstitutional. The turning point decision put an end to legal segregation. Many years later, racial separation are back on the advance inside America’s public school classrooms. At the time when school districts and states were authorized to manage some schools are more likely only for students that are white and others for the black students. Progress was made over time but the goal of ending the school segregation was never close to being attained. In the article, “”Race, Equality, and “Hearts and Minds,” Richard King states that “to separate them from others of similar age and qualifications solely because of their race generates a feeling of inferiority as to their status in the community that may affect their hearts and minds in a way unlikely ever to be undone” (King, 313). School segregation is basically a matter of neighborhoods and it does not concern any schools. Schools are segregated because from the neighborhoods located in the area are segregated. Some school segregation can be improved by making an adjustment to the school attendance boundaries or restraining school choice. These moves are limited and mainly unrelated to students that attends an elementary school.
