There are many mistakes we have made on Earth that harms the nature and wildlife. First, we have caused climate change which is one of the biggest environmental issues. This vastly affect the Earth, the habitat of human beings and all living organisms, with many negative consequences and effects. Climate change has influence on forests, water systems and wildlife, and makes global temperature rise.

Trees in forests absorb carbon dioxide(CO2) when they photosynthesize. As carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases, climate change will be accelerated if there are excessive amounts of it. Climate change also has impacts on the water system. It causes abnormal weather patterns such as floods and droughts because warm temperature hold more moisture. Many people who live around the great rivers depend on water that come from the glaciers for drinking, cleaning, farming, and industries.

Ocean also provide food and oxygen to human beings and animals. Phytoplankton in ocean absorbs half of the carbon dioxide we’ve made, and produces half of the oxygen. However, if the concentration of carbon dioxide in the ocean get too high, ocean becomes more acidic(WWF-UK, 2018). Acidity is one of the key abiotic factors to the aquatic ecosystems. Ocean acidification is harmful for the oceanic species like shelled animals because their shells are easy to be dissolved by carbonic acid(H2CO3) made from carbon dioxide(National Geographic, 2018).

Furthermore, the polar regions are also affected by climate change. When temperature rises, glaciers and ice in that region melts. The melting of the ice sheets affect the species. Also, they regulate the overall temperature of the Earth by reflecting sunlight back. Second, air, soil, and water pollution due to human activities ruins the environment.

Air pollution can be both visible and invisible. The major pollutant is carbon dioxide which is produced by burning fossil fuels. There are also other greenhouse gases such as methane and sulfur dioxide that pollutes the atmosphere. Methane is the gas emitted by livestocks, especially cows. Sulfur dioxide and temperature are closely related. When volcanoes erupt, they release huge amounts of sulfur dioxide and lowers the global temperature. However, people have been releasing more amounts of it lately.

In addition, a gas named Chlorofluorocarbons is banned have destroyed the ozone layers(National Geographic, 2018). Most part of soil contamination is caused by human activities such as garbage and industrial pollution, and the use of pesticides and fertilizers. Chemicals used in agriculture decreases the fertility of soil, and will affect the food production in the future. Also, the accumulation of pollutants and pesticides in human body has serious impacts on human health(Permaculture Research Institute, 2018). Water pollution is also critical for the health of human and animals. Water contamination is caused by industrial pollution, spills, agriculture, the deposition of air pollutants, etc.

Artificial chemicals in the pollutants cannot be broken down by nature, and have negative effect on human and various species(Government of Canada, 2018).Third, natural resource depletion can destroy the environment, and can lead to wildlife extinction and loss of biodiversity.
