Studying shakespeare is important because some shakespeare lines are used in everyday conversation among educated people. Also Shakespeare’s writings, particularly his plays, prompt us to imagine the complex lives lived by his character.William Shakespeare wrote many important plays and he was a very creative play writer and poet. Shakespeare’s collection of 38 plays are categorized into three types; Tragedies and Comedies. Shakespeare was born on the 26 of April 1564 and died the 23 of April 1616. Shakespeare’s audience for his outdoor plays was the very rich, the upper middle class, and the lower middle class. The lower middle class paid a penny for admittance to the yard (like the yard outside a school building), where they stood on the ground, with the stage more or less at eye level. These spectators were called groundlings. Shakespeare lived in Stratford, England, where he was born and spent the first 20 years of his life before he move to London. Shakespeare’s plays are set in many exotic locations, from Verona and Milan to Athens and Rousillon.William Shakespeare started writing plays because he realized that he had the potential to be a playwright. He also enjoyed theatre and he realized that he could also act in them. We study Shakespeare because of the rare quality of his work. Also because he  is considered to have a wealth of superb, enduring poetry and he always wrote from a God-centered, redemptive perspective. The Globe theatre was built in 1599 in London England by Shakespeare’s playing company. Many people owned the Globe Theatre (Cuthbert Burbage, and Richard Burbage) … William Shakespeare was one of them. Also the six joint owners took out a thirty-one year lease. In a modern theatre the audience sits opposite to the stage.  What was different about the design of the globe theatre compare to modern theatres is that in the globe the audience sits around the stage. About 3,000 seated and standed person could fit in the global Theatre. The poor people used the pit which costed 1 penny and they had to stand up. The sections gradually increased; The Heavens, the Frons Scenae, Lord’s rooms, Gentlemen’s rooms and the Tiring House. Finally the best section of the globe theatre was the Hut. The Hut was for Kings and very rich people. The hut was like a small house with a roof. The motto of the globe theatre is  “Totus mundus agit histrionem” which means the whole world is a playhouse. The globe theatre was burned down in 1613. In 1642 the parliament ordered the theaters to close because the Puritans were gaining power and at this point civil war broke out. The difference between the globe theatre in the 1660’s and the globe theatre today is that women can go on stage today and in the 1660’s women were not allowed. Also There would be a lot more people there. The original Globe held as many as 3000 people. Now it can only held 1500 people. In 2014 the globe theatre has planned to relate these plays into the problems of conflict  mankind faces today; Globe Theatre goes global!
