these childrenfall in the category of being defenseless and can’t help themselves from thoseharming them. They become foster child in the system and up for adoption, andbuilding relationships with foster caregivers. Many times, these children aresuccessful and build a secure relationship with their caregivers (Lang, 2015). 4. The study focuses on foster children’sattachment formation and its factors of influence during the first year infoster placement (Lang, 2015) The study intendedto explore attachment formation to surrogate caregivers during the first yearin foster placement. Various factors which might influence this process areconsidered in predicting attachment security longitudinally (Lang, 2015).
5. a. population The participantsof this study where many 55 foster children, the children placed from ages 9 monthsto 6 years old. The primary caregivers were mostly women and had a professionalcareer. The children were placed in 5 different homes before being in a stablehome.
b. measuresThey assessed anattachment Q-sort, it simply was a home observation. See chart on table 1.After the home observation they sorted them in to nine piles. As for theresults the score was measured from -1.0 to +1.0.
c. procedureThe foster caregiverand the foster child were seen twice within a short time being together. one ofvisit was from home and the other at the laboratory.
the researchers videotapedthe home visit to use if needed in the future. They evaluated the children tosee what they would do if the parent was to leave and what they would do ifthey were to stay and paly with them. 6. On the first table the development of attachmentthe standard of the AQS security scores (Lang, 2015) the chart was split in differentwaves that they texted the children in, they noticed that in wave 1 to 2 therewas an increase from wave 2 to 3. In wave 1 there showed a higher attachment security,with children that older and girls.
The children show to have an up scale ofattachment security within the beginning of there years (Lang, 2015).and theyshowed an improved development in a short time of being placed.
