he aim of this task
was to find out information on Lord of the Rings trilogy directed by Peter Jackson. The aim was to find
background information on the movie, the themes of the movies, and release date
of the movie on DVD and cinema. Furthermore information on character from the
trilogy, box office success of the movies. Fully research on Lord of the Rings. I choose the Lord of the Rings trilogy as my
franchise because I have been watching it since I was four years old, watching
the extended addition of the movies when I was eight, with a total run length
of 682 minutes. In addition to reading the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit written by J.R.R Tolkien. And his other novels “The Silmarillion”,
“The Tale of Beren and Lúthien” and “The Children of Húrin” all written by
J.R.R Tolkien but edited by his son Christopher Tolkien.
Lord of the Rings trilogy is directed by Peter Jackson consisting of
three fantasy adventure movies. They are established on
the novel The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. The movies tracks the
book’s storyline roughly. However they do cut some of the novel’s storyline. In
addition they include some additions to and departures from the source
material. The movies are titled The Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers and the Return of the King. They are produced by
WingNut Films and distributed by New Line Cinema.
THEMES OF LORD OF THE RINGS
Friendship is a theme
of The Lord of the Rings. A Fellowship is created, consisting of all the Free Peoples
of Middle-earth, including men, hobbit, elves, and dwarves. With
even elves and dwarves who have to settle their differences to fight against
their common enemy of Sauron.
Frodo, Gandalf, Aragorn: Priest, Prophet,
The priestly role
belongs to Frodo, because he is the sacrificial lamb of Middle-earth who bears a burden of terrible evil on behalf
of the whole of Middle-Earth.
Gandalf is the
prophet, revealing hidden knowledge, working wonders, teaching others the way. He
sacrifices himself and descends into the nether areas of Moria before being reborn
with greater power as Gandalf the White.
Finally, there is
Aragorn, “the crownless
destined to be king.” Besides being a king of prophecy, he also echoes the
saving work of Christ by walking the Paths of the Dead and offering peace to
the army of the dead that were imprisoned by curse put upon them by Aragorn’s
The One Ring is the source of power threw out the trilogy. Tempting
all who wield the Ring or who are in close area to it. For example Isildur King
of Gondor, Gollum also known as Sméagol, and Boromir are all
characters who fall to the temptation of power that Sauron offers. Characters
like Isildur and Boromir though they have good aims with the ring of power they
are nevertheless are tarnish and corrupted by it.

was once a Hobbit who lived in river lands of the Shire, till one day while
