By looking at how are aissez-faire economy, psychedelic drugs , what the media and moving pictures potray ,and and our government .
We can apply Akers’ social eruditeness theory and the Marxist theory to our question why do gangs form in our communities . Akers’ social learning theory explores how drugs and the media influence people.
Akers’ social learning explanation (of why something works or happens the way it does) states that people learn irregular behavior by watching/ noticing/ obeying and learning from the social factors in their day to day live . Akers also talks about major ideas of differential association, fake, definitions, and differential reward It says that these action will likely produce behavior that violates social and legal normal behaviors and the person will confirm to following those behavior when people spend time with/ those who expose them to mentally sick patterns when the mentally sick pattern is reinforced over and over again.
Marxist’s explanation (of why something works or happens the way it does) has (a system where people own money and valuable things) the as the cause of crime. Marxist explanation (of why something works or happens the way it does) states that ownership of the means of production by the (person who uses the money to make more money) ruling class produces a(community of people/all good people in the world) that is basically and mostly criminogenic. The explanation (of why something works or happens the way it does) believes that the crimes committed are either, “crimes of change (to help someone)/place to live and sleep or crimes of resistance to the (person who uses the money to make more money) system.
When scratching the surface on what causes gangs to form, (a person’s strong feeling that he or she must do certain things in order to be liked by people of the same age) is one of those causes.wehn recruiting young people to become gangs’ members it will start by peer pressuring them into joining a gang by making it all sound beautiful and amazing. Money plays a big role in the beauty part when recruited new gang members for example kids 6-10-year-old kid who isn’t officially part of the gang could make $200 to $400 while working a small part-time job for the gang. Although these are important factors they are not effective enough to make kids at that age or older to do things that are against their morals .One of the ways that kid’s morals could be misled into accepting gang violence is by using or having the influence of television and movies. This is an example of the social learning explanation (of why something works or happens the way it does). An average child spends more time looking at a TV than she/he spends on their homework or class. Since nobody can completely control what goes on in a kids mind then they must be learning something while watching their favorite shows, movies, or cartoons. Very little of TV shows are educational on TVs these days so many other negatively affecting ideas are being soaked up (like a towel) during this time period. Shows on television today are very violent and shown from a gang’s or gang’s member’s (way of seeing things/sensible view of what is and is not important). A mature adult can tell how badly the condition the gangs are living in. However, a child will take that the existence of violent gang as acceptable. ‘The Ends Gives a good reason for the Means’ is taught through shows by some means where the “good person” defeats the “bad person” through violence and is going to be punished. As a child, the kid thinks this is perfectly acceptable because he knows that the “bad person” was wrong but has no idea of what acceptable punishments there are. Blood and guts in television also take a big part in influencing young minds. Children who watch bloody scenes are fascinated/hypnotized by sometime they have never been exposed to before. Older viewers who watch bloody scenes and are not worried about the blood but rather how much pain the victim feels. A younger mind doesn’t make this connection. So, a love of bloody things comes becomes visible, and this has been seen in(more than two, but not a lot of) of my friends. Unfortunately, kids who grow up watching these things are more likely to likely to grow up with a stronger acceptance of becoming a violent gang member or ‘violent-acceptant’ person. “Gangs bring the irresponsible/unpaid normal behaviors of (community of people/all good people in the world) into intimate contact with the individual.”1, (Marshall B Clinard, 1963). So the end result, TV leads a child to think and believing that violence is acceptable and in no way wrong. This will likely make its way into a gang situation. This is the most important when parents don’t spend time with their kids explaining what is right and what is wrong or right that is being displayed on TV, and these days it’s not surprising that newer books and types of music will encourage this type of thought and ideas. Once a kid or teenager (related to the mind and brain) writes those ideas into their head they can easily be more accepting of the idea of joining a gang if they run into any family or outside problems. For instance, children who don’t have their parents around as much will often feel starved of love. Parents feel that food on the table is enough to show their love for their child and are often busy working because of this. Children who are in those kinds of families are more likely to join a gang first out of boredom and feel like they have the sense of belonging that didn’t exist with their family. As time passes a form of family relationship, love or relationship may develop between the members of the gang and the child. That’s when the bond controls how the child thinks about the gang and how it has taken the place of their family. The new unfriendly and grouchy structure of cities also affects the ease in which a boy/girl can join a gang. ” The (creation and construction/ group of objects) of gangs in cities, and latest in suburbs is helped by the same lack of community among parents. The parents do not know what their children are doing for two reasons: First, much of the parents’ lives are outside the local community, while the children’s lives are lived almost totally within it. Second, in a fully developed community, the network of relations give every parent, in a sense, a community of guards/lookouts who can keep him informed of his child’s activities. In modern living-places (city or suburban), where such a network is lessened, he no longer has such guards/lookouts.”2, (Merton Nisbet, 1971). In male gangs, problems happen when a male tries to one-up the other to see which one is the manliest This leads to gangs members participating in a “one-upmanship where each member tries to commit the bigger and more violent crime or simply more crimes than the others will. Having members participate in this sort idea results in a never-ending unorganized violence spree (A sort of Clockwork Orange way of thinking or in other words a (when A causes B, which causes C, etc.)In gangs with smarter members, these feelings end up trying to be the star of a crime or become the alpha of the gang This makes the gang much sharp/eager/ well-developed and organized when doing/performing a crime. This sort of gang found more in the middle or upper-class people but can happen in gangs in the low rent districts too. This “one-upmanship” is the leading cause of why rival gangs fight. Many gangs feel powerful, and they want to be feared by the surrounding people. To do this they try to take down as many gangs as they can in their neighborhoods they can be the only ones left. After the tension between gangs fights begin to form and gang murders happen. When two gangs are in conflict makes life very dangerous for people (who lawfully live in a country, state, etc.) who step in between them in any way in the area. Less than 40% of drive-by kills their meant victim yet over 60% kill someone. Lastly one of the greatest factors for joining a gang is for protection. Although from a different point of view, we can clearly see that joining a gang can bring greater bad than good, but that not always true for kids who live in crowded, dirty neighborhoods such as the Bronx or the very worst case, Compton, children will be beaten and robbed if they do not join a gang. The gang also provides money for these children in order to win the trust and loyalty since the money feeds the family. The reason kids think that the gang they join will or can keep them safe is that of the (talk or information that tries to change people’s minds) the gangs present or show. This is a type of (talk or information that tries to change people’s minds) can is shown when a gang member says that if anyone hurts the child they will take revenge on who did them wrong. People in low rent areas are most often being ignored due to poorness and race. This results in a (point of view/way of behaving) that (gives a reason to do something) that person to base their life on doing what the system that badly mistreats them doesn’t want. Although this completes little it is the main factor why gangs form and why people join them. They then do/perform crimes of resistance, which supports the Marxist explanation of crime. So to wrap it all up gangs are products of (the health of the Earth/the surrounding conditions) we have created as a (community of people/all good people in the world). Some of these factors include bad mistreatment, newspapers, websites, and TV,greed, violence, and other gangs. There seems to be no end to the (creation and construction/ group of objects) of gangs without totally rebuilding the modern day (process of people making, selling, and buying things) and value system we put as humans. Since the chance of this change is very (almost nothing/very little), we must learn to successfully deal with gang and try to keep them to a very low value. Unfortunately, there is no real organized force to help fight gangs. Of course, the police are supposed to deal with these kinds of situations the police forces regularly display their increasing inability to deal with these issues. What we need are more people to form organizations like the “GuardianAngels” a gang-like group that makes life very tough for street gangs that are breaking laws.
