BUDGET – STAY IN GOAGOA – one of the most visited places in India, especially during Christmas and New Years.Staying in Goa can be an expensive affair, but I have listed few ways and places that you can stay in to save some dollars with an amazing experience.North Vs South GoaIf you are going to Goa to unwind, you should stay in South Goa – its absolutely beautiful, quiet and there is so much to see whereas if you want to have a gala time enjoying the nightlife, water sports and shopping then North Goa would be ideal.
Accommodation in GoaNote : It’s important to book your stay in advance to get a good deal.Hostels – very affordable, even during peak seasons when most places the prices shoot up massively.Feel free to explore different hostels, my personal favourite is Jungle by thehostelcrowdThis is in Vagator (walking distance to the Vagator beach), they have private rooms as well as dorm rooms (I stayed in the private room). They offer a basic breakfast. And if you want to grab some food and drinks visit Mango tree, it is right next to the hostel. It has an amazing vibe and it’s open till 4am.Airbnb – for a private room in a home away from home or you could also opt for a private house/bungalow, depending on your budgetGuesthouse – they are also quite reasonable and perfect when you are travelling with family or in a big group.
Travel in GoaTravelling can be exorbitant in Goa if you want to beach hop or shop or anything. because – there is no Uber/Ola in Goa and only private taxi’s.It is best to hire a car or (my favourite) a bike. However you will need a driver’s license. The price for bikes could vary : 250 – 400 per day. Make sure you bargain cause they always quote a higher price.
Sightseeing in Goa – freeThere is so much to see in Goa – from the beautiful beaches to the churches. You can check out some of the hidden beaches. You can visit some famous forts – of Aguada, Tiracol fort & Chapora fort, all for free.Club Entry ChargesIf you are travelling with your girl gang then oh BOY! You can even save up on entry charges and alcohol – Yes that’s true!!So every club in Goa – the entry for women is free and on certain days they even offer free drinks for ladies.
(Club Cabana – Thursday – Ladies Night – Free Drinks). So you can plan your stay accordingly.Shopping in GoaShopping can be endless in Goa, you can find jewellery, carpets, handicrafts, books and the list goes on and on.
Must visit the Anjuna flea market (on Wednesday) and the Night market in Arpora (on Saturday).The key to get the best buy is to bargain hard.I hope all these tips help you to stay on budget without sacrificing the fun.!!
