He experienced encounters with the KKK which was was looking for his dad and burned down there home. The Little family really poor, and was very were self-sufficient until Reverend Little’s death in 1931. When this happened family unity began to dissolve. The first effected was Malcolm, who had become a discipline problem and was soon sent to live with another family in 1937. During that same year Mrs. Little began to suffered a severe nervous breakdown and was sent to the state mental hospital. His sibling became wards of the state. Malcolm’s behavior lead him to the authority at thirteen, he was sent to the Michigan State Detention Home. In junior high school, Malcolm became an outstanding student and was very popular with his schoolmates, but his world was upset in the eighth grade when his English teacher advised him not to try to become a lawyer because he was “a nigger.” He became despondent and his schoolwork suffered. He soon asked to be transferred to the custody of his half-sister Ella, who lived in Boston. He arrived in Boston in the spring of 1941. In Boston, Malcolm found himself more attracted to the street life in the ghetto than to Ella’s upper-class Roxbury society. A friend got him a job as a shoeshine boy at the Roseland Ballroom, which rapidly became the center of his social life. He soon began so spend most of his time there. He began to learn how to the pimp, the dope pusher, and the thief. This soon lead him done a path. “Looking back, I think I really was at least slightly out of my mind. I viewed narcotics as most people regard food. I wore my guns as today I wear my neckties. Deep down, I actually believed that after living as fully as humanly possible, one should then die violently. I expected then, as I still expect today, to die at any time. But then, I think I deliberately invited death in many, sometimes insane, ways.”In this time in his life was the time of Malcolm’s dark times which was the time he was a hustler in detroit and fell into the hustle and the criminal business and started falling in love with the drugs and prostitutes and the white woman. When America entered World War II, Malcolm was sixteen, too young for the army, but by lying about his age, he was able to get a job on the railroad, the war having caused a shortage of black porters, cooks, and waiters. This job took him to New York City, and when he was fired from the railroad for wild behavior, he went to Harlem to live. This soon lead him to start selling drugs, stickups, numbers running, and bootlegging. This soon sent him back to boston to live with his sister. Which was because running from the law. He soon found himself in prison where me meet a prisoner named Bimbo and this became to change him.Malcolm X was the the time in his life that he was in prison and he changed his ways and fell into the belief of ALLAH and The Nation Of Islam and believing in the great Elijah Muhammad. This led to him learning him how to read and write and change his slick back red hair and hustle style to the great civil rights activist known as Malcolm X. He believed that the white people were evil and there stuff was poison and evil. This led to him getting to be Elijah Muhammed spokesman or preacher/ Minister In 1964, Malcolm X made a pilgrimage to Mecca and changed his name to el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz which meant his name was “the pilgrim Malcolm the Negro.”. This Also led to him finding out that Elijah Muhammad impregnation to women and having two children he does not claim. Malcolm at first didn’t believe it until he met the women. This also led to him believing the actual religion of Islam and disregarding what Elijah Muhammad belief of what Islam was in his perspective. Malcolm therefore got invited by Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia to speak to a personal crowd in where he would talk about the differences of his belief of Islam against the beliefs of Elijah Mohammed. With this he also visited other countries such as Middle Eastern and African countries and was received as an important visitor by both state officials and African-American expatriates in Nigeria and Ghana. This led him to slowly build his power and understand the true meaning of being a strong AFrican American and also building a strong international union with black people which was the first step of bring the truth of a black man’s role before the United Nations and wanted to treat the fact of the racism and discrimination a true international problem. EVen though Malcolm knew that people following his orthodox belief of islam was not going to get all the support or followers at first at the pilgrimage of mecca he felt they could not understand the importance of his religion and beliefs and believed that they still didn’t understand the true meaning of black unity and the discovery of the new religion Mecca which he created. Then he went back to Africa and also went to work with the Organization of Afro-American which he found out they were getting harassed, abused and assaulted. Then is family was also threatened to get evicted due to the fact they were owned by The Nation of islam. The organization kept him busy though with college campus lectures which he would perform, Also by filming television programs. He then was also trying to rekindle a relationship with black leaders which hated him due to the fact of his beliefs. In 1965 he was not allowed in France and they said he was undesirable in the country even though he had been going to do an engagement. On February 13,1965 on his return back home to New York his home was firebombed which he accused to be black muslim who had done this. Even though he had escaped the fire safely with his family his home was destroyed with the fire. Then the Muslim society disregarded the claim by saying he had done this himself for publicity and to be more known. A few days later, Malcolm confided to his collaborator on the Autobiography, Alex Haley which Malcolm told him that he didn’t feel like it was the plan of the muslim society but the plan which was given by a higher power in the belief or the society. But this also led to him getting a amount of power that the other followers started getting jealous of and started a few arguments. On February 21, 1965, Malcolm X was designated to speak at the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem which was a meeting made by the Organization of Afro-American Unity. During his speech / meeting a fight had broken out. This fight was just a distraction to what was going to happen. This led to 3 gunman being able to go up to the front of the stage and gun down Malcom. He immediately died from the gunshot wounds. Three gunmen were arrested for the murder but Malcoms followers believe in a conspiracy theory on which a higher power such as the government but even after this it didn’t change the influence Malcolm gave on society plus the book Autobiography of Malcolm X which shows his influence and true life story shows his true influence on society and the black community.
