It is estimated that per person produce over 2 tonnes of waste each year. Our policy sets directions in six key areas and identifies 16 priority strategies that would benefit from a national or coordinated approach. These strategies will provide focus to the work across individual jurisdictions, build on current directions and complement existing activity. They will also provide clarity and certainty for business and the community.

2.   What measures have your country taken to restrict production pollution

Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions have risen steadily between 1991 and 2008.We should take action to reduce the production of greenhouse gas instantly. The Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011 established the Carbon Farming Initiative—a program providing incentives for land-based and waste sector projects. With the introduction of the Emissions Reduction Fund under the Government’s Direct Action Plan, amendments to the Carbon Farming Initiative legislation were passed on 24 November 2014. The amendments expanded the coverage of the Carbon Cr edits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011 and enables the Clean Energy Regulator to register projects and issue Australian carbon credit units for emissions reduction projects from across the economy. The Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011 also sets out the requirements for methods and provides for the Clean Energy Regulator to conduct auctions and enter into carbon abatement contracts on behalf of the Government. Both major political parties have agreed that we should aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 5 percent, compared to the level of such emissions in 2000, by 2020. The Australian Greens are seeking a reduction in Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions of 40 percent on 1990 levels by 2020. Also, our analysis shows we can reduce emissions to 300 million tonnes by 2030 – the equivalent of a 51% reduction in emissions below 2005 levels .Our final target is to reach zero emissions by 2050.

The Clean Energy Regulator oversees the administration of the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target and the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme to encourage additional generation of electricity from renewable energy sources. The Renewable Energy Target legislation provides an incentive for investment in renewable energy power stations and smaller systems while ensuring the energy sources used are ecologically sustainable. Here are some laws about renewable energy.
Renewable Energy (Electricity) Amendment Act 2015
Renewable Energy (Electricity) Amendment (Solar Zones and Other Measures) Regulations 2014
Renewable Energy (Method for Solar Water Heaters) Determination 2016

4.  In the fast fashion industry, what character does your country represent

(producers or consumers)? On behalf of this character, what can your country do

to reduce the damage to the environment?

As a high-developed country, we play both role in the fast fashion industry. To reach our goal of zero emissions, we should put emphasis on reducing the damage to the environment when we develop the fast fashion industry. Since many clothes companies do harm to our environment because of pursuit of profits, we shall legislate to stop the trends. However, as it is said it cure the symptoms, not the disease, starting from education, letting the next generation know about the serious problem of the environment is the thing that we should all do. This kind of mindset should be planted to childrens while they’re still little. It is important that we  guide our nationals to make efforts on the protection of not only Australia but the whole world .After all we only have one earth. It is our responsibility to leave a healthy planet to our children.
